Manufacturing Technician Role Scope

This Manufacturing Technician role is primarily a welding and fabrication role and will report to the Director of Manufacturing. As part of a small, high-performance team, this position will work closely with and under the guidance of our lead Manufacturing Technician to plan, lay-out, weld, install, test, and repair all types of pipe, fittings, and structural members. This team member must develop a complete understanding of structural and pipe drawing packages including bills of materials, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and weld process specifications. This position will also play a role in the general assembly of production IcePoint® units and must be willing to complete general assembly tasks as required by supervision.

Essential Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Process Pipe Fitting, Welding and Installation (40%)

Prep, fit, and weld out all piping for Rebound Technologies’ IcePoint® refrigeration units. The majority of our system utilizes 1/2″ – 8″ 304 Stainless, Sch10. The engineering team will provide drawing packages. The Manufacturing Technician will use these drawings to convert raw material into safe, functional piping systems.

Structural Fabrication, Welding and Installation (25%)

Apply expertise in GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and/or GTAW welding processes to size, cut, prepare, and install structural components as dictated by engineering drawing packages and weld process specifications. Structural elements to be fabricated include industrial process skids, mounting brackets, and generic support members or frames.

Machine Tool Operation (20%)

Willingness and ability to learn how to operate various power tools such as drill press, horizontal band saw, vertical band saw, angle grinder, plasma cutter, and mag-base drill is critical. The Manufacturing Technician will be required to fabricate various mechanical and structural components within applicable tolerances at a high level of quality.

General Assembly (15%)

The Manufacturing Technician will play a key role in supporting the assembly of IcePoint® refrigeration units. On occasion, the Manufacturing Technician will use exploded diagrams, isometric drawings, and bills of materials to mount and/or assemble drive mechanisms, pumps, motors, switches, heat exchangers, flow controls, instrumentation, and vessels.

Qualifications/Requirements

5+ years as an AWS certified structural or pipe welder

5+ years experience assembling, installing, altering, and repairing equipment, controls, or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air or other fluids

Must be able to pass 6G pipe weld test in both carbon and stainless steel

Must be able to pass 3G and 4G plate weld test, 3/8” carbon steel

Must be able to visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions

Must be comfortable improvising when parts or assemblies must be fabricated with limited resources

Hands-on with a high level of drive, energy, and integrity

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities

Self-managed and driven to achieve measurable results aligned with strategic objectives

Ability to follow established safety policies and maintain a safe, clean work area

Responsible for making recommendations to improve overall process and efficiency

Good written and verbal communication skills

Salary

$65K – $80K

Weld Proficiency Testing

Candidates will be required to pass the following weld tests:

3G, 4G plate weld, carbon steel (GMAW)

6G pipe weld, stainless steel (GTAW Root, fill, and cap)
