Rebound Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with experience in electrical design/implementation, PAC based controls development, and hardware commissioning within the industrial thermal, energy, or process space. A perfect candidate will feel comfortable at the intersection of electrical and mechanical engineering with knowledge of electrical design best practices, controls methodologies, and hands on testing. Day to day responsibilities will range from panel design to control code modifications to wrenching on equipment.
The engineer will join a lean world-class team of engineers, scientists, and technicians. While being supported by this team, this individual will be looked to as a leader on the electrical design and implementation side. The position offers significant responsibilities, but also opportunities for ownership of product development. As a member of this small startup team, the engineer will be met with a variety of tasks and operate with autonomy. The candidate will quickly be given the responsibility of determining internal best practices for the electro-mechanical side of Rebound’s product development strategy. While the candidate will report to the Director of Engineering, Rebound’s small team means that the candidate will also work closely with all aspects of the company.

Electrical design: The candidate will facilitate Rebound bringing electrical design in-house from outside 3rd parties. As Rebound’s first electrically focused engineer, the candidate will be responsible for crafting both Rebound’s approach to electrical design and documentation and generating that design. Responsibilities will include:
-Maintaining and creating electrical schematics for panels and product wiring
-Consolidating electrical best practices and educating existing and new employees
-Sourcing electrical panels from 3rd party suppliers and ensuring product quality
-Training technicians on installation of electrical systems and working alongside those technicians on the initial builds including troubleshooting and service support for customers
Controls development The candidate will initially work with Rebound’s controls engineer to increase the reliability and performance of the IcePoint system. Responsibilities will include:
-Create, maintain, and configure control software in a python environment
-Optimize control loops using bang-bang, PID, and other common logic structures
-Analyze equipment performance to understand and remedy reliability and performance issues
-Develop improvements to the existing data acquisition and technology monitoring dashboard system
Testing: The candidate will perform hands-on tests on the IcePoint system both in-house and in the field at customer sites. This testing will involve controls optimization, equipment testing, and system’s diagnostics all of which may include direct physical interaction with the system on an electrical, fluid, and mechanical basis. Responsibilities include:
-Operating IcePoint equipment and monitoring system outputs
-Performing physical maintenance on the electrical, fluid, and mechanical systems within IcePoint. Excitement about hands on work is a must!
-Designing and executing test plans both in-house and on-site.
Rebound’s team is based in Commerce City, Colorado, adjacent to Denver. You will work primarily from our headquarters with some travel to local customer sites within Colorado and the US as we expand our fleet.
-Electrical Design: You have experience working in AutoCAD Electrical (or comparable software) creating electrical schematics for industrial equipment.
-You are fluent in NEC, UL, and other standards for sizing wires, laying out electrical panels, and creating compliant electrical systems.
-Controls: You understand electro-mechanical controls and can write PID, bang-bang, and other control code. Ability to solve difficult process problems and determine root cause through process experimentation and data analysis.
-Testing: You know how to setup a design of experiments and execute it. Must have knowledge of data acquisition concepts and instrument control including complex test, measurement, calibration algorithm development, definition, and implementation of control interfaces to hardware.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
Software: You are adept at some or all of these:
• AutoCAD Electrical
Hardware: You know your way around:
•Opto 22 PAC based controllers (Epic Groov etc.)
•Various types of temperature, level, pressure, and flow sensors
•Industrial electrical panels, terminal blocks, breakers, etc.
•Pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, valves, etc.
