Alex Yang joined Rebound as a Product Engineer, filling the gap between the R&D and Production teams. Previously, Alex worked as a Lead Engineer at General Electric’s New Product Introduction division, developing clean-sheet engine hardware on GE’s next generation gas turbines. His efforts in non-linear mechanics, transient turbine behavior, and creep mitigation led to improvements in rotor architecture, enabling notable increases in turbine firing temperature capability and combined cycle efficiency. Alex brings seven years of product development experience, with an emphasis on rigorous technical design, design of experiments, and extensive analysis with computational and probabilistic methods. His systems integration experience, as well as hardware verification and validation expertise, puts him in a prime position for separation system design, balance of systems trade studies, and IcePoint® product commissioning.
Prior to GE, Alex designed motorsports hardware with a Pirelli World Challenge touring car team, a natural continuation of his three seasons of Formula SAE. Alex holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, and is pursuing a Master’s in Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
